How To Download & Install Iris Shaders in Minecraft (1.20.2)

you want shaders in Minecraft and honestly I get it because it is the best

way to improve the look of Minecraft with actual good lighting great shading

and even things like better Ambiance with you know grass moving in the wind

and all of that stuff so without any more delay let's go ahead and show you

how to get shaders using the iris shaders mod this is an alternative to

optify shaders we also have contents on that so be sure to subscribe if you want

to see those but Irish shaders allows you to get shaders in Minecraft without

using optify and and while using fabric mods so let's go ahead and get Irish

shaders the first thing you want to do is go to the second link in the

description down below that will take you here this is our in-depth guide on

getting ID shaders and the content you're watching right now will actually be up

here at the top then scroll down and click on the download iris shaders

button to be taken to the download page once you're here go ahead and click on

the universal or download Universal jar button here the jar will begin

downloading and you may need to keep or save it depending on your browser while

that's downloading how message from R compan simple game hosting go to the

first link in the description destion down below the breakdown that XYZ SGH

deser your very own 24-hour DS protected Minecraft server at simple game hosting

you can easily install mods mod packs plugins or run a vanilla server the

choice is up to you and there is expert live chat support and a high quality

knowledge base to help you out if you run into any issues the goal though is

to make your Minecraft server hosting experience as simple as possible so you

go check out simple game hosting at the first link in the description down below

the breakdown. XYZ SGH to start your Minecraft server the simple way

nevertheless with Iris downloading we need need to download shaders as well

shaders packs specifically think of it like this Iris allows shaders packs to

work in Minecraft but every shaders pack is different and makes the game look

different so as you can see BSL looks like this meup Ultra fast looks like

this so on and so forth one of the shaders packs that I would recommend is

actually complimentary shaders and by the way this link is the third link in

the description down below and that would take you here to where you can

download all these I recommend downloading anything that you enjoy and

think looks good and add them all to Minecraft because it's super easy to

switch between them complimentary shaders though is based off BSL shaders

but its goal is to be as compatible as possible working on as many gpus and

with as many mod packs and all that as it can so I'm going to go ahead and

download this one we'll also go ahead and grab vanilla plus shaders because

well that's a very light shaders pack and then we'll grab makeup Ultra fast

which is up here towards the top and one of my favorites as well so with all

these opened how do you download them well you want to go to files on curse

forage and then you want to go aad head and click on the three dots now you may

be wondering Nick I don't see 1.2.2 here is this going to work yes it's going to

work 1.20.1 shaders and honestly shaders even back to like 1.2 in some cases will

work without any modifications now iris  is a bit different than OptiFine as you

can see this supports both OptiFine and Iris and that is going to be the case

for most shaders but if 1.2.2 is not mentioned that's perfectly fine so go

ahead and click the three dots here and click download file and then it will

begin after a few seconds once that download is finished you may need to

keep or save the file but let's move on to the next one here vanilla plus

shaders same process files and as you can see not compatible with 1.2.2 still

going to work without issue and then last but not least is my recommendation

if all else fails complimentary shaders so if we go to files here we'll be able

to see that this is actually updated already to mention

1.2.2 uh but nothing changed um the Creator just went in and changed it

because it was compatible out of the box without any issues let's go ahead and

click the three dots and click downloadfile now all of our shaders packs

downloaded we can go ahead and get everything installed so in order to do

that what we want to do is minimize our browser and then we want to move all of

this to our desktop so it's going to be in my downloads folder here so if we go

ahead and navigate there we'll be able to see here are the three shaders packs

we downloaded and Iris now obviously we're going to be starting off with Iris

here because well iris is what allows all of these Shader packs to actually

work in game so let's go ahead and get Iris installed to do that right click on

it click on open with click Java and click okay but Nick I don't have Java

well if you don't have Java what you need to do is download and install Java

17 Java 17's required for Minecraft mods and obviously shaders are a Minecraft

mod so it is required for shaders in Minecraft 1.20 two most of the time

installing Java gets you good to go it's installed you're ready to rock and roll

but what about if you're not and for whatever reason you've installed Java

you've went through the article you've watched the content it's still not letting

you open it up well that's where the jarfix comes in and what this is going

to do is link all the jar files on your computer like the Irish shaders jar we

downloaded back to Java making them work together but in order for this to work

you need to get Java 17 so get Java 17 then run the jar fix then we can install

Iris so go ahead and right click on Iris click on open with click Java and click

okay that's going to open up the iris and sodium installer sodium is another

mod that is required to run Iris this takes care of installing both so don't

really worry about it and then you want to select your game version obviously we

got 1.2.2 here click install Iris and click install and now iris is going to

be installed installed into Minecraft and it's so fast that I can't even talk

and give you the potential issues you may have which by the way are this one

you may get a warning that you've not played Minecraft 1.2.2 yet if that's the

case you just need to go play Minecraft 1.2.2 vanilla meaning no mods or

anything like that just open it up to the main menu close out of it and then

Iris will work it's also recommended that both Minecraft and the Minecraft

launcher are closed when installing Iris so make sure those are closed and then

install Iris but now we can go ahead and close out of Iris and delete it from our

desktop now let's get our shaders packs installed in order to do that we want to

open up the Minecraft launcher here where we will have an iris profile

basically this is going to be how we're going to play Minecraft with Irish

shaders so let's set the Minecraft launcher open and then as you can see

here we already have this selected you might have to click the drop- down box

and select it and if it's there click play and click play again but if you

don't have it here click on installations at the top then make sure

modded is checked in the top right as you can see you don't check modded it's

not going to be there so check modded there it is now if you still don't have

Iris and sodium here go ahead and click new installation you can name this

whatever you want but I'm going to name it simple gam hosting.com because that's

the easiest way to play Minecraft with your friends and then go ahead and click

the version dropdown box here then we want to select release Iris fabric

loader 1.2.2 and then once we've done that we can go ahead and set our

resolution I'm just doing that so you can see better once we get in game

finally click create and we now have this new simple gam hosting.com profile

with Iris fabric under it now let's go ahead and open up Iris here right like

so and it'll be installed you'll be good to go you will be able to play Minecraft

with shaders except you'll need to add your shaders packs so let's do that from

the Minecraft main menu so here we are in the Minecraft main menu to add in

your shaders click on options content settings it's different isn't it and

then click on shaders packs up here at the top so again for the main menu click

options content settings Shader packs and then in order to add your Shader packs

here click on the open Shader pack folder at the bottom of the screen then

drag and drop any shaders packs you want to install literally any of them and it

could be any of the ones from the list there just drag and drop them into here

or any other shaders packs even that aren't on our list and then come back in

game and boom here they all are installed we can click on make up Ultra

fast and we can click apply it's also worth noting that there are Shader pack

settings down here and this is what will really allow you to change a lot of the

different settings that your shaders packs have for example waving plants I

don't really like so I could turn that off if I wanted to and this does work

with other shaders packs but let's go ahead and jump in game and we will be

able to see that our Shader pack is in fact working and just like that we can

see that it is working now there are other shaders packs like I said and we

can switch those in game one of the things I like about IRS if we go into

escape and options here basically pause the game go into content settings Shader

packs you can actually see what it looks like in the background so if we go into

vanilla plus shaders here and click apply it's not going to look like much

as being done right the biggest thing that you can tell about vanilla plus

shaders is actually the clouds there but that's the goal it's a very light

shaders pack it's supposed to be very close to vanilla but then we can talk

about complimentary which is my favorite shaders pack and if we go ahead and

click on that there we'll be able to see that it just works and that's what I

like about it it just works as well as there's a lot of different

customizations that you can do to it so if we go into shaders pack settings here

we have all of these different sort of settings we can go into individual

performance settings lighting settings materials it can all be changed and uh

let's go ahead and check out Ultra here just to see what it looks like but

nonetheless if you have any questions let us know in the comment section down

below and if this content did help you get shaders please give it a thumbs up and
